Growing up in Africa, Sarah Nkansah Boateng witnessed the hardships endured by her parents and fellow community members in their quest to provide a comfortable life for their children. Sadly, the dream of a privileged childhood seemed out of reach for Sarah and many others in similar circumstances. Living in an environment where aspirations were stifled and daily failures were the norm, she was disheartened to see her peers succumb to dropping out of school and falling into destructive behaviors.
Motivated by these stark realities, Sarah made a resolute decision to pursue her own dreams while also creating positive change within her community. It was during her time in tertiary education that she actively embarked on her humanitarian journey, driven by a deep desire to assist the most vulnerable members of society, particularly those living in rural communities.
As a professional midwife, Sarah’s expertise became a powerful tool in her mission to make a meaningful impact. In addition to her medical profession, she also earned recognition as a finalist in the Miss Health Ghana 2020 pageant, using her platform to advocate for health and well-being in society. She also uses her social media platforms to share educational information on reproductive health.
Sarah’s passion for uplifting others extended beyond her professional pursuits. She authored the book titled “Her Becoming” (The Invaluable Journey), a Christian literature that explores themes of beauty, character, self-acceptance, and self-love. Through her writing, she aimed to inspire readers to embrace their true selves and realize their own worth.
As the Founder and CEO of Nkansahs Foundation, Sarah established a platform dedicated to community development and the advancement of girl child education. The foundation’s projects, such as menstrual hygiene campaigns and the provision of clean water through their flagship project “Quench the Thirst for Rural Communities,” have made a tangible difference in underserved areas, including the community of Apiatekwa in the Eastern region of Ghana.
