Under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Egypt, The launch of the activities of the second day of the “Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership” in its third edition begins by visiting the Museum of Leader Gamal Abdel Nasser.
This morning, Thursday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a visit to the Museum of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, as part of the activities of the second day of the Fellowship of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser for International Leadership—the third edition, organized by the ministry under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, with the participation of 150 young leaders from the Non-Aligned Countries and the Friendly Countries, which is scheduled to be held from May 31 to June 17, 2022 in Cairo under the slogan “Non-Aligned Youth and South-South Cooperation.”
A session was held for the participants in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership on the sidelines of their visit to the museum of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, in the presence of His Excellency Minister Mohamed Al-Orabi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary Munther Selim, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political and Regional Groupings, Dr. Adel El-Adawy, Assistant Professor of International Relations at the American University, and Economic Adviser, Gamal Khaled Gamal Abdel Nasser, grandson of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, who spoke about the humanitarian aspect and leadership and the model of the leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, the human being, who in himself is a model that embodies the knowledge of leadership, a role model and a model for others with his Egyptian national cultural achievement documenting his march and struggle and what he offered and sacrificed the late leader.
During their visit to the museum, the fellows got acquainted with the museum, which tells through its contents the events of a difficult period in the history of Egypt and the Arab nation, where that museum was the home of the leader Gamal Abdel Nasser. Then, after the death of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the house was allocated for the residence of his family based on a governmental decree, and then its ownership was transferred to the Egyptian state again after the departure of the leader’s wife until a presidential decree was issued to convert it into a museum. It was renovated and the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reopened it on September 28, 2016, coinciding with the forty-sixth anniversary of the death of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, which fell on September 28, 1970.
The Fellows also inspected all parts and contents of the museum, which includes the entrance, reception, and lobby of the museum, as well as the office room, the bedroom, the presidential salon, the corner of Manshiet al-Bakri, and the corner of the leader’s belongings and his decorations, which include many documents and personal belongings of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, including his clothes, letters, and personal and family photos, and his photographic cameras, pens, decorations, badges, and souvenirs obtained by the late leader.
At the end of their visits to the Gamal Abdel Nasser Museum, the participants in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership took a set of memorial photos, expressing their respect and appreciation of Egypt and the Egyptians for their history and the role of their loyal leaders, including the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, who was not only an Egyptian and Arab leader and pioneer, but also one of the most outstanding leaders in the history of all mankind during the twentieth century.
Hassan Ghazaly, General Coordinator of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, in its third edition, explained that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership gives an equal opportunity for both genders, as indicated by the fifth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, as well as empowering youth and giving the opportunity for actors from different countries of the world to mingle with each other and activate partnerships in various Domains, not only at the continental level, but also at the global level, as indicated by the seventeenth goal of the sustainable development goals.
Ghazaly added that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, in its third edition, comes with the participation of youth leaders representing about 73 countries around the world, in addition to the Egyptian delegation, representing many societal segments targeted by the fellowship this year, including the national branches of the Youth Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, and heads of councils as well as the National Youth Council, members of local councils researchers in strategic research centers and thought, in addition to members of professional syndicates, as well as media professionals, journalists and social entrepreneurs.
